Introducing our 2025 Impact Report.

2025 was a challenging year for development finance. As aid budgets came under pressure and global needs continued to grow, the need for more effective ways to finance impact became increasingly clear. At the Global Innovation Fund, this has reinforced our focus on backing innovations that can improve lives at scale while making every dollar go further.

Our 2025 Impact Report reflects both what our portfolio has achieved and what we've learned over more than a decade of investing in innovation. To date, GIF-backed innovations have reached 138 million people, including 64 million in 2025 alone, with women and girls accounting for more than 31 million of those reached. On average, each person reached by innovations we’ve supported is 6.5% better off relative to their annual income. Our portfolio has also mobilised $1.5 billion in additional capital to date - an 8:1 mobilisation ratio - including $83 million during 2025.

These numbers represent meaningful improvements in people's lives. Across our portfolio, we estimate that every dollar invested by GIF generates around $9 in social value through stronger livelihoods, improved education, better health, greater agency and lives saved.

This year also marks the beginning of GIF's new strategy. Building on what we've learned, we are sharpening our focus on financing climate adaptation and resilience alongside inclusive economic opportunity, backing innovations with the greatest potential to scale, and working with partners to overcome the barriers that prevent promising solutions from reaching millions more people.
