2025 Impact Report
In 2025, GIF focused its investment strategy on innovations where we can have the most impact: building climate resilience and supporting inclusive economic opportunities. Innovations we supported reached 64 million people, of which 32 million are women and girls. Our portfolio has achieved a dollar mobilisation rate of 8:1, and in 2025 alone we catalysed crowding-in of $83m.
Our impact in 2025
DRIVING CLIMATE ADAPTATION
Our portfolio of 24 climate investments totals $37 million and is split across our grants and risk capital instruments, across agriculture, health, energy, water and waste, data and digital and inclusive finance.
To date, GIF backed innovations have reached nearly 31 million farmers through solutions that support productivity, livelihoods and adaptation to climate change.
SCALING FOR IMPACT
We know that scaling innovations takes time, particularly given our focus on de-risking innovations that may require time to mature and demonstrate impact at scale. We are proud to report that over 40% of our investments have successfully scaled, and 22% are on track to or have partially scaled.
Every dollar we invest returns $9 in net social benefits.
UNLOCKING IMPACT
GIF is a scale-enabler that backs high-impact innovations using flexible, evidence-led approaches and flexible, catalytic capital. Since 2015, GIF-backed innovations have reached 138 million people across low- and middle-income countries.
