Tomich is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of sustainability science and policy in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy at the University of California, Davis. His long career, much of it in Egypt, Kenya and Indonesia, has been devoted to understanding the connections among food systems, ecosystems, climate and sustainability. A co-editor of the Annual Review of Environment and Resources, Professor Tomich is the author of more than 100 publications. He was Global Coordinator of the CGIAR’s ASB Partnership for the Tropical Forest Margins and has served as a member of the CGIAR’s Independent Science and Partnership Council.
