Professor Khan is Director of the International Centre for Climate Change and Development at Independent University, Bangladesh, and Technical Lead of Least Developed Countries University Consortium on Climate Change. He has had a long career in academia and has published three books and many papers on climate change. He is a lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPPC) and has served as Bangladesh’s lead climate finance negotiator at the UNFCCC for more than two decades. He has also been a Visiting Professor or Fellow at several universities including Brown. Currently, he is contributing as a Coordinating Lead Author (CLA) for Chapter 8 of the GEO-7, led by UNEP.
