The Development Challenge
Indonesia faces a severe environmental health crisis, ranking 14th globally for air pollution, with levels 7.4 times above WHO guidelines. In cities like Jakarta, home to 11% of the population, poor air quality shortens life expectancy and hits low-income communities hardest. It also drains economic productivity through lower worker output and higher absenteeism. Climate change worsens the problem, with extreme weather and forest fires releasing black carbon that further degrades air quality and accelerates warming.
Although Indonesia has set national air quality standards and requires key industries to monitor emissions, urban pollution and industrial emissions remain a major challenge for public health and the economy.

Our Investment
GIF Growth has provided a USD$1M loan to Green Teams which will be used for working capital, enabling the company to take on more government contracts to expand air quality monitoring and response coverage.
