Susanna Gable

Susanna Gable is Chief Economist at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) since 2017. Before joining Sida she was at the World Bank, working on cross-country and country-specific economic growth analysis with particular attention to inclusive growth, economic transition, trade, investment climate, public expenditures, poverty reduction, climate, the Sustainable Development Goals and the Financing for Development agenda.

She is the Chair of OECD-DAC Community of Practice on Poverty and Inequality, co-founder of the global OECD-DAC Chief Economist network, co-founder of the Community of Practice on Country Diagnostic, member of the Global Council on SDG1 and the Development Committee at the Global Innovation Fund.

Susanna has a PhD in Economics from Gothenburg University, where her research focused on political freedom, economic reforms, economic growth and the environment.
