Joseph oversees the work of the Analytics, Environmental, Social Responsibility and Governance (ESG) and Grants teams. He is responsible for ensuring that GIF’s investment activity is informed by high-quality analytics on social impact, that there is appropriate performance and management of ESG risks and opportunities, and that grants have the potential to scale via government or civil society to improve the lives of millions of low-income people. Joseph previously worked at the nexus of public-private sector collaboration with the Investment Climate Facility for Africa (ICF), where he led the evaluation of over 30 e-government initiatives across 14 African countries. Prior to ICF, he worked in the Gender, Equity and Rural Employment division of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Joseph holds a Masters in Public Policy.
